Accessory Dwelling Unit

Project information

This design is an exploration of how a 2-dimensional image of a cube (see ROOF PLAN) can take on an entirely different form once the perspective is shifted. Additional care was taken in the design to make it as accessible as possible to accommodate less-mobile family members as people like to move their elderly parents into ADUs or “Granny Flats.” My project was among the highest performers in the class, despite deciding on a ground-up redesign (illustrated in the following images) more than halfway through the project.
